CIS Manchester Gallery

Manchester Art Gallery, Manchester, 2002

As an exploration of Manchester’s creative achievements, the gallery has strong links with the feel of the city. We drew on paintings of the city for a colour scheme, with occasional contemporary urban flashes, and stories about the objects are displayed on architectonic structures. Themed rather than chronological, the display reflects the rich and layered experience of modern urban life, where historic and contemporary art, design and architecture live along side one another.
